Dan ga je als ouders door een hele zware periode. Al je mooie plannen, kunnen zo het raam uit. Je bent non stop in het ziekenhuis en niets is wat je van te voren gedacht had.
Ik weet het nog als de dag van gister dat ik werd gebeld door de ouders van Stijn of ik alsjeblieft afdrukjes van hem wilde maken. Ondanks alle corona regels heb ik er voor gekozen om toch te gaan. Door de telefoon hoorde ik direct een soort van opluchting. Ik heb meteen mijn spullen bij elkaar gepakt en ben in de auto gesprongen. Eenmaal binnen was de liefde, de pijn, de warmte en het verdriet voelbaar. Er stond een mooi wiegje in de hoek van de kamer. Wat was je mooi en klein. En dan al zoveel meegemaakt.
Stijn was heel erg ziek, de artsen konden alleen niet vinden waarom. Hij heeft in zijn veel te korte leventje een hartoperatie moeten ondergaan, een longbiopt, een chemokuur en nog tig andere onderzoeken. Uiteindelijk is hier het syndroom van Noonan uitgekomen. Stijn lag aan de beademing waar hij niet meer vanaf kon. Zijn longetjes waren zo ziek, dat de artsen niet meer wisten wat ze konden doen om hem beter te maken.
Na het maken van de malletjes en eenmaal terug in de auto overviel het mij allemaal even. De kracht van de ouders, het verlies, hoe trots ze zijn. Eén ding weet ik zeker Stijn: Jij hoort er voor altijd bij.
Hieronder vertellen de ouders van Stijn zelf hun verhaal
Onze grote vechter, onze prachtige zoon Stijn. Na 35 weken zwangerschap ben je geboren. Zo mooi en klein dat je was en zo trots dat wij jouw heit en mem zijn. 11 Weken en 2dagen hebben we van jou genoten, elke dag kusjes gegeven, je handjes vast gehouden, je kunnen troosten, liedjes voor je gezongen, verhaaltjes voorgelezen, naast jou gelegen in het grote ziekenhuisbed en jou vast mogen houden. Aan dit alles is met pijn in ons hart een einde gekomen. We kunnen je geen kusjes meer geven, we kunnen je niet meer zien of even vasthouden. Alles is nu een herinnering, deze herinneringen koesteren wij en houden we vast.
Omdat Anita bij ons thuis langs wilde komen, hebben wij niet alleen herinneringen, maar hebben wij ook echt nog een deel van jou. Jouw handjes en voetjes. We kunnen een deel van jou nog vasthouden, weer even terug naar jou en naar de tijd dat je nog bij ons was.
Wij zijn zo dankbaar dat je bent gekomen Anita, jij hebt onze zoon vast kunnen leggen op een manier dat wij zelf nooit hadden gekund. Door jou hebben wij nu deze prachtige en waardevolle herinnering aan Stijn.
